From 1996 until 2001 I built physical therapy machines for lower extremity and stroke/paralysis rehabilitation. I was also the secretary of the corporation. There were various models of these machines, called Z-Lifts. They were also useful for fitness training, so many athletic teams as well as hospitals and clinics bought them.
When NASA's robotic engineers built a new machine in cooperation with UC Davis and Christopher Reeves' foundation, our market share diminished to the point where we had to close the business. So nice to be in competition with the government.... For a glimpse of the website I maintained, click here. For now, none of the hyperlinks on the page are functional except for the link under the picture of the new machine (it reads "click here for more information," but I may upload the whole site in the future since there is still some interest in these machines.
